#360 floating fairy this little guy was sitting on a branch when a great gust of wind cast him on his way to float safely to the ground. hand painted butterfly wings. he wears a matching hat & coat. and carries his pouch of goodies with him. little fairy sits on a steel stand which looks like a tree. 5 1/2"tall x 5 1/2"wide x 5 1/2"deep. 13"tall on stand $100.00

#384 this is one of my new creations this year. he is a storyteller of the forest. he is conversing with a fairy friend to get new stories to tell. he is sitting on his favorite beaded satin pillow he put on a wrought iron stand, so he will be comfortable while telling "his" stories. he is about 18" tall while seated. $400.00

 she has artist history: wendy avner grew up in the midwest just north of Chicago, Ill. she went to the American Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, 1977-79. throughout the years she has won many awards with her pastel paintings. one of her pastels made the cover of the album "New Day" by the group "Brydge". during her artistic career, wendy has illustrated 2 children's books, titled: 2 Loves for Selena, in 1992, and Sydney the Kangaroo in 1977. wendy has also drawn portraits at the Saturday Market in Portland ,Or. and has worked with channel 2 news (KATU) as a courtroom artist.

wendy muses, "being able to pick up the doll and look at all sides while i am working is wonderful to me. with painting i use magic to create the 3 dementions, but with a sculpture, you see all sides. i can shape, feel and create all sides at once. i love to work with color, to manipulate the fabrics, add textures, use objects in odd ways to make the doll i am working on unique. i sing with the color and dance through my dolls. this has been a very exciting adventure for me so far!"


#306 this jester is ready to set the mood. he is 12"tall sitting down, his legs hang over the ledge 7". he has big expressive eyes and his vest is bright yellow. and he wears a black and red hat. he goes everywhere barefoot. $395.00

wendy has shown her work in many galleries around Portland and across the U.S. her mural work at the McMinamin's Edgefield in Troutdale, Or. is a permanet instulation. there are 28 doors, most on the 1st & 2nd floors and a 75' mural on the 3rd floor. wendy was very honored to work with the group of artist there.
